What to do in LA when it’s Raining!

Guess What? It’s RAINING in Hollywood today!!!! But don’t panic! There are still lots of amazing things to do in LA on a rainy day. Here are a few of my favorites:

The Movie Lover:
*The Chinese Theatre: Go see the newest IMAX movie at the world famous Chinese Theatre – located just 3 blocks from Orange Drive Hostel.
Not only do you get to see a film on an IMAX screen, but you get the added bonus of seeing a film in the most famous theater in Hollywood. You can even take pictures of the amazing architecture before the movie starts.

*Arclight Cinema Hollywood – 6360 W Sunset Blvd.
Another great option for movie lovers! Arclight Cinema is currently showing all of the Oscar nominated films for best picture. You will also find all the newest movies showing at this 14 screen theater. Arclight is known for it’s upscale theater vibe, boasting a trendy restaurant, coffee bar and gift shop. And take a good look around while you’re standing in line for your popcorn, because Arclight is the best theater in LA for spotting celebrities!

For the Music Fan!
Amoeba Music – 6400 W. Sunset Blvd (Next to Arclight Theaters)
The world’s largest independent record store! Amoeba Music stocks everything! Find every genre of music or movies you’re searching for including rare, hard-to-find, collectible and import titles.

Get cultural and stroll around some of LA’s amazing art and natural history museums!
LACMA – Los Angeles County Museum of Art – 5905 Wilshire Blvd.
The Getty Center – 1200 Getty Center Drive.
The Natural History Museum of Los Angeles – 900 Exposition blvd. (Dinosaurs!)
Go Shopping!
Head to one of these gigantic inside shopping malls.
The Beverly Center – 8500 Beverly Blvd. ( features more than 160 stores)
Westside Pavilion – 10800 W Pico Blvd.
150 stores and a 12-screen movie theater. Tom Petty fans will recognize the Westside Pavilion interior from the shopping mall scenes of Tom Petty’s “Free Fallin” video.
Okay, that should help get you started on your rainy day activities!
